It may occur, during childbirth also, when the nose of the child is pressed heavily. Some people have this problem, when they get blow on their face, especially on the nose. In sports, most of the boxers have this problem, because of the punches they receive, during the fights. Some people are not aware that they have deviated nasal septum and they realize only they feel difficulties with their breathing. At times, there may be bleeding through nose and their pillows would be with spool of blood, when they wake up in the morning.

There are several deviated nasal septum symptoms and when people find symptoms, they should consult their ear, nose and throat surgeon to take treatment. If it is very mild and just above normal, surgeon would prefer to provide treatments with nasal drops and antibiotics. Of course, these treatment procedures are effective only to certain extent.

Nasal deviation is common and as long as they feel free, they do not have to physicians. When the septel deviation is severe, it blocks the passage of air path and creates uneasiness in breathing, which may lead to sinusitis. Further it is infected and there would be bleeding nose. The deviated nasal treatment is based on the symptoms of the patient.

Analgesics drugs are given to reduce headaches, which would be severe, when the patient is suffering from nasal deviation. Decongestions are given to the patient to reduce secretions. Antibiotics are used if there is infection for the patient. These are the common medications that are given to patients, according to the symptoms they have with their nose. Repositioning of septum is necessary, when the patient has intolerable pain and difficulty in breathing, with surgical procedure. Generally, surgery is the last procedure and physicians try their best to avoid the surgery, if there is only light deviation in the nasal septum.

When the patient feels good with the medications, they prescribe the same medicines, until the patient is fully cured. The surgeon performs surgery, only all the above medications are not effective to the patient. The surgical procedure is not a major one and it may not take many hours to perform. Straitening the nasal septum is the main aspect of surgery and most of the surgeries have no complications.

Only in rare cases, there may be hemorrhage, which is bleeding nose, and serious infection and further development of deformity. There are people, who have their cosmetic nose surgery to enhance their appearances. Cosmetic surgeries are optional and there are patients, who combine both surgeries, so that they look naturally, after their surgical procedures.

When patient feels unusual symptoms, he should not take it easy and should not postpone his visit to the physician. He has to visit the ENT specialist for consultation. Generally, many people feel this difficulty, when they are above fifteen and only during that time, they feel difficulty in breathing and have other symptoms. Anyway, consulting surgeon is very important for all patients, whether they need surgical procedure or not. The surgeon is the deciding authority for the medical treatments and he decides this, according to the deviated nasal septum symptoms.
